Get To Know Us

Welcome to Visconti Health Services. I am LouAnn Visconti, orthodontic specialist and owner of Visconti Health Services, which has been providing orthodontic services to the Timmins and District area since 1992.

My story begins in Toronto, where I was born and raised. I graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry University of Toronto in 1988. Following my graduation, I had the opportunity to intern at Sunnybrook Hospital, which took me up to Big Trout Lake First Nations Reserve to provide dental care to this community. It is there that I met my future husband, a commercial pilot and native of Timmins, and the rest as they say is history!

I studied orthodontics, which was combined with a Master’s Degree, at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. Following my graduation in 1992, being newly married, my husband and I made the decision to call Timmins home. At the time that I moved to Northern Ontario I was the only dental specialist for 350 square miles around for the first 20 years of my practice. I am happy to see other specialists now providing services in the area so that we can work together as a team in order to provide the best treatment that we can for those in our communities right here in your own backyard!

I have always been involved in organized dentistry having served as President of the Ontario Dental Association in 2017-18, and most recently being elected as the Ontario Representative to the Canadian Dental Association Board. I have always been active in the Timmins and District Dental Society carrying out various roles, including hosting weekly video meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic when our offices were closed. This provided an opportunity for information sharing, and discussion among our members.

As a Board member for the CDA we worked hard with everyone across Canada to ensure that we could provide a safe environment for you, our patients, and our staff when we returned to practice.

I am blessed with a fantastic team of caring individuals who work with me on a daily basis to provide you with the care that you deserve. My office manager, Sue Laurin, is also my sister-in-law, and has been with me from that first day on October 14, 1992 when we opened our doors! Sue and her husband Denis have 3 children and five grandchildren! Sue is responsible for making sure that the Administrative side of our practice runs smoothly for all of us.

Catheline Allarie-Crete, my hygienist, has been practicing with me for 23 years. Catheline and her husband Dan have 2 children and 3 granddogs. Catheline is also an invaluable member of the team, who keeps the clinical side of the practice running smoothly!
